Average Speed: 3.75 MPH

Yet another lame treadmill run. This time I ran/walked while studying for school so it took a little longer than usual. Which I don't mind by any means. You don't get that time back when you run, may as well put it to some use.

4.3 miles around the neighborhood

This was actually two days ago, when I started the blog.

I jogged the full 4.3 miles in my neighborhood route (not shown for obvious reasons) with walking as necessary. 1:10:00 time, roughly, for a 16:16 pace.

The weather's nasty here in Alabama in summertime, so I like to keep the speed more casual than race-pace.

I can't wait until it starts to cool down though. At night it will get to about 30-40 degrees with ~100% humidity during the fall/winter months (best time of the year here in the South!).

So maybe this blog will get more active then, but for now, you'll have to see lame treadmill workouts. I can't stand the heat.

First post!

Hey everyone! This is a blog for updating my running progress. I hope to update this blog several times a week with workouts/runs I'm doing in preparation for upcoming races.

Those of you who know me know I've wanted to run a full marathon before I turn 30. What with my 30th birthday coming up (and with school having to take precedence), it comes as no surprise that I won't be able to make that date.

However, I do plan on picking the half marathon training up when I can in the fall.

I've done the First Light Half Marathon twice before (2010 & 2011); I'm making 2015 my new goal!
